We help people build practical digital forensics skills so they can solve complex cases with confidence, and do it ethically.

Our mission
Digital forensics is learnt at the bench. You can read about write-blockers and hash values for weeks, but the skill comes from imaging a drive yourself, finding the artefact that matters and explaining it in a report someone else can check.
Our mission is to give students, investigators and IT professionals that hands-on skill. We train in digital storage, mobile, network and cloud forensics and malware analysis, and we tie every module back to real case practice. Our research feeds into the teaching, so what students learn keeps pace with the devices and threats they will actually meet.
- Hands-on training in storage, mobile, network, cloud and malware forensics
- Research that connects theory with field practice
- Case-based methods designed for current forensic challenges
Our vision
We want DFRTI to help set the standard for digital forensics education, with a clear focus on innovation, ethics and the protection of evidence.
That means doing forensic research on the problems investigators face today, such as encrypted phones, SSDs that erase deleted data on their own and evidence spread across cloud accounts. It also means working with experts in India and abroad, because cybercrime does not stop at borders and neither should the people who investigate it.
Why people choose DFRTI
- Current curriculum
Courses include AI forensics, cloud investigation and mobile forensics alongside the core disk and file system work.
- Hands-on labs
Practice with professional forensic tools, from data recovery to malware analysis.
- Industry links
We work with law enforcement and technology organisations on training and research.
- A wider network
Students connect with forensic professionals who work on difficult cases in India and abroad.
Our core values
These guide how we teach, how we research and how we handle evidence.
- Integrity
Forensic work must be accurate and honest. We teach students to preserve evidence carefully and to report what the data shows, nothing more.
- Excellence
We aim for training, research and resources that keep professionals ahead of the cases they handle.
- Collaboration
We build links between experts in mobile, cloud and AI forensics so that complex cybercrime cases can be solved together.
