Research at DFRTI
Forensic research on storage, mobile, memory, network and AI evidence, and the tools that come out of it.

DFRTI's research is about digital evidence and nothing else. We study how data survives, hides and gets destroyed on storage, phones, memory, networks, cloud services and video systems, and we build methods and tools that help investigators recover and prove it.
Our research feeds straight into our courses. Here you can see the areas we are working on, the case studies and articles we publish, the tools we build and how universities, agencies and developers can work with us.
Ongoing ProjectsOur active projects cover disk analysis, mobile evidence, cloud forensics, memory research and malware investigation. Each one starts from a problem investigators run into on real cases.
Publications & Case StudiesResearch papers, case studies and investigation reports for analysts, teachers and forensic researchers. Written to show method, so readers can apply it to their own cases.
Tools & InnovationsWe build forensic tools for storage, mobile, cloud, memory and malware work. The aim is simple: more accurate evidence, found faster, with every step on record.
Collaborate / ProposalsWe want to push forward how digital evidence is acquired, analysed, validated and automated. If your research or project is in digital forensics, you can work with our experts, labs and datasets. Not sure this is the right one for you?
Tell us your background and what you want to do next. A counsellor will suggest a course and the next batch.
